Information Collected and/or Shared
When you browse, read pages, or download information on our VR Dimensions websites, we automatically gather and store certain technical information about your visit. With this aggregate data, we learn about the number of visitors to our sites and the types of technology our visitors use. We are then better able to make the sites more useful to you.
To ensure that we are able to communicate effectively with visitors to our website, we may also collect Personal Information from eligible individuals who affirmatively request to receive e-mail or other services from us. We collect this Personal Information in order to provide these eligible individuals with timely information via e-mail regarding events, resources and issues. In addition, as a registered user of the any VR Dimensions program, we will collect a variety of information pertaining to your use of the product, as well as your performance and progress throughout the course of completing it. Such information will also be made available to your institutional administrator if the any program that VR Dimensions provides, was purchased through an institution. Collecting this information helps us improve the content of our software, and better address your needs.
A cookie is a tiny piece of data stored by a user’s browser that helps a website or service recognize that user’s unique computer. Cookies may be used on VR Dimension websites to improve the user experience and for basic web metrics. Information gathered may include information relating to your use of our sites, information about your computer such as the computer’s IP address and browser type, demographic data and, if you arrived at our site via a link from a third party site, the URL of the linking page. If you are a registered user this may include your name and email address for verification purposes. You can remove or block cookies by changing the settings of your browser but you should note that if you do so, this may materially affect the functionality of the site and the information you can access through it.
Privacy of our Email Lists
As noted above, we may maintain e-mail lists to keep interested, eligible individuals informed about important topics, and individuals must affirmatively request to join them. We configure our list server software to refuse to divulge the email addresses of our list subscribers to anyone other than those whom we authorize. However, we are not the author of this software, and are not responsible for any failures in the software to preserve subscriber anonymity.
VR Dimensions has appropriate physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards in place to help ensure that our users’ Data is protected against unauthorized access or use, alteration, unlawful or accidental destruction and accidental loss. Such measures include, but are not limited to, using commercially reasonable tools and techniques to guard against unauthorized access to our systems, and limiting access to Personal Information to only those who need it to fulfill their duties to us.
Although we make reasonable efforts to protect your Personal Information from loss, misuse, or alteration by third parties, you should be aware that there is always some risk involved in transmitting information over the Internet. There is also some risk that thieves could find a way to thwart our security systems. Your own efforts to protect against unauthorized access play an important role in protecting the security of your Personal Information. You should be sure to sign off when finished using a shared computer, and always log out of any site when viewing Personal Information.
Transfer of Data
The Internet is a global environment. Using the Internet to collect and process personal Data necessarily involves the transmission of Data on an international basis. Therefore, by browsing VR Dimensions’ sites and communicating electronically with us you acknowledge and agree to our processing of personal Data outside of the country in which you reside, including in the United States.
Because we care about the safety and privacy of children online, we comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA). COPPA and its accompanying FTC regulation establish United States federal law that protects the privacy of children using the Internet. We do not knowingly contact or collect personal information from children under 13. Our site is not intended to solicit information of any kind from children under 13. It is possible that by fraud or deception we may receive information pertaining to children under 13. If we are notified of this, as soon as we verify the information, we will immediately obtain parental consent or otherwise delete the information from our servers.
